Potty Training

I started potty training this morning with Lily. So far in these two hours she has wet then dirtied her panties. Ugh. Cleaning dirties out of panties isn't fun.
I'm focusing on rewarding her with a chip when she is dry.
I've started asking myself if I'm still sane. If the answer is yes, then I get a chip!
In case you can't tell, I'm tired!

  1. it takes A LOT of work, don't feel insane, lol. I made a cute "potty chart" and let them pick out a sticker to put on it each time they went and also gave them 3 smarties candy for going #1 and a pack for going #2. I also took them every 15-30 minutes depending on how much they drank. Also, #2 most ALWAYS comes after they get #1 down. And don't worry yourself with nap time and bedtime yet. I have talked to so many ladies and the doc about that and they all said their bodies will eventually teach them to wake up, I finally quit stressing about it and listened to them :-) Not sure how you feel about them, but I used pull ups until #2 was down, I find that a little on the incredibly disgusting side to have to clean out of panties.. Keep it up but if she isn't ready, don't push her, both of my girls didn't get it till they were 3. Good luck :-D

    1. Thanks - I am sure not going to attempt night dryness until she is approaching 20. Daytimes are hard enough!

  2. By the end of the day she went wet in the potty twice and had four or five accidents. This last accident she came and told me she wet. I guess that is progress!

  3. I used m&m's. They're my favorite candy and I always rewarded myself, whether the child pottied or not and whether I was sane or not.
