Sprained Ankle

Lily had complained about an "boo-boo" on her ankle Memorial Day evening, but I thought it was the scratch I could see there. Tuesday morning she was limping, her ankle was swollen, and it was bruised behind the ankle bone. James was off work thankfully, and we took Lily to the doctor. We had to carry both girls so I was glad James was there!

Wrapped and stabilized until we left.

Listening to the iPod until we left.

At the doctor's.
Lily cried and was scared when the doctor came in.
I think she expected shots.
The doctor said to get an x-ray to see if it is broken. Thankfully she sent us to the Santa Rosa Diagnostic Clinic instead of the Emergency Room. I was expecting to wait for two hours, but it was almost instant service. We finished our paperwork and were able to get the x-ray right away.

Waiting out the paperwork process.
Anna was asleep in the car and I vainly hoped
she would stay asleep under the cover. Nope!

Positioning for the x-rays

Lily was angelic during that process.
She held perfectly still.  I think she liked the pillow!
We won't know the results until the doctor calls us. They told us to wait a day.

UPDATE: They called and said it wasn't broken - just sprained.

Keeping her busy and seated was a chore!
After returning home and the girl's naps, we tried to keep her still while applying herbal muscle oil to her ankle every once in a while. She got so fidgety by late evening that I let her walk around. She didn't limp at all or say she was in pain. It was no longer swollen, and there was no heat around the ankle. I am crediting the herbal oil for healing her muscles, but you may think what you like. :-D
We started the Country Church embroidery
tile scene yesterday afternoon. We are using
the biggest hoop we have and it is huge!

Anna played and chewed on everything while
we were entertaining Lily and embroidering.
